Write digital fiction for booze with Future Human and Bad Dollar

We’re looking forward to our Smash Publishing salon on August 22 – you can find all the info and buy tickets at our shop page. To celebrate the event we’re running a short fiction competition in partnership with Bad Dollar, the digital short story imprint.

Bad Dollar offers exclusive ebook stories for a dollar (or indeed a pound), whose recurring theme is what happens when a dollar is spent unwisely. From airport wi-fi to budget wrestling contests, the characters in Bad Dollar stories exemplify ill considered expenditure.

We want futurehumanistas to contribute their own bad dollar stories, so if you fancy honing your fiction writing skills please submit a 250 word synopsis of your story and an opening page (no more than 300 words) to us at info@goodpublishing.co.uk. The deadline for entries is 6pm on August 17.

At Smash Publishing the three winning authors will given free entry or a ticket refund. They will then be invited to introduce and read their story synopsis on stage.

Whether you’re limbering up for your magnum opus or a novice writer who fancies testing your talent, this is an excellent opportunity to dip your toe in the waters of digital publishing and to booze your way to notoriety.

You must be able to attend the event on the evening of August 22 to read your story, so please don’t send us a submission if you can’t make it that night. Remember, we want stories about spending a dollar unwisely – feel free to interpret that in any way your imagination sees fit.
